They have also been designed as standalone one-day sessions as described:

Module One: Leading and Managing Change
(1 Day)
Key to any improvement initiative is the need to manage change effectively. This module is based on experience from world-class organisations including Toyota, General Electric and European Quality Award winners, whilst being practical and proven to work in the NHS. It covers how to choose the right opportunities, and how to get genuine ‘buy in’ to change from people at all levels. This module also describes the role of leadership in managing successful projects. The content is based on adapted elements from Catalyst’s successful Lean and Six Sigma programmes, but keeps away from unnecessary jargon.

Module Two: Improving Existing Processes
(1 Day)
This covers a range of approaches, concepts and principles to help tackle problems in your day-to-day processes and activities. It focuses on effective problem solving methods, including the design and running of ‘Rapid Improvement Events’. Additionally it covers some of the tools and techniques you will need to help ensure successful completion of improvement actions. This programme will demystify approaches such as lean, six sigma, and the theory of constraints, and provide you with a practical set of improvement approaches which you can use immediately.

Module Three: Extending the Toolkit
(1 Day)
Building on Module Two, the focus is on improving process flow and reducing variability. It covers a range of tools and techniques commonly associated with Lean Thinking and Six Sigma, and introduces the application of Control Charts, to help you understand process capability and give visual management for ongoing monitoring. A very participative and enjoyable session.
